No. 20 Georgia Tech to Battle Auburn in Primetime Matchup

Jackets Fall Short in Game 2 at Notre Dame

The No. 12 Yellow Jackets (14-12, 11-9 ACC) had just one multi-hit player in Stephen Reid, who went 2-for-4, while Justyn-Henry Malloy and Tres Gonzalez also had doubles on the day. Likewise, the 12 th-ranked Fighting Irish (15-5, 14-5 ACC) had two multi-hit hitters with Ryan Cole leading on a 2-for-3, two-RBI homer day. On the mound, Tech starter RHP Andy Archer (4-3) received the loss after four runs scored in his 5.0 innings of work, while he struck out seven. The Jackets used three relief pitchers with RHP Hugh Chapman and LHP Dalton Smith not allowing an earned run between them. For Notre Dame, LHP Aiden Tyrell (2-1) went a career-long 6.0 innings before RHP Alex Rao pitched three innings for the save.

Reid Homers Tech Past Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Second-year freshman Stephen Reid blasted a no-doubt, two-run homer in the eighth to power No. 12 Georgia Tech baseball past Notre Dame, 4-2, on Sunday at Frank Eck Stadium. The Yellow Jackets (15-12, 12-9 ACC) battled in pitchers’ duel, where LHP Sam Crawford worked a terrific start (6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 K), before LHP Josiah Siegel (1-0) pitched a clean seventh to get his first collegiate decision. RHP Dawson Brown then retired the next two batters before LHP Luke Bartnicki slammed the door with 1.1 innings of no-hit work for his fourth save of the year. En route to 12 hits on the day, Tech had four multi-hit performances, including Reid.

TUSCALOOSA, Al. – Georgia Tech track & field closed out the final day of their Week Four meet at the 2021 Crimson Tide Invitational at Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium on Saturday. Sophomore vaulter Olivia Moore guided the Jackets in Tuscaloosa, collecting gold in the women’s pole vault, as Tech had multiple podium performances. Jackets Blast Past Louisville

THE FLATS – Crosby Huckabay went 3-for-4 with four RBI, highlighted by a three-run home run in bottom of the fifth inning that capped Georgia Tech softball’s 12-2, run-rule win over Louisville on Sunday afternoon at Mewborn Field. With the victory, Georgia Tech split this weekend’s four-game Atlantic Coast Conference series with Louisville. Tech trailed 2-0 after two-and-a-half innings on Sunday but roared back with four runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to cruise to its first run-rule triumph since a five-inning, 8-0 victory over Georgia State on Feb. 14. GAINESVILLE, Fl. – Georgia Tech track & field opened up Florida Relays on Friday with multiple podium performances and national top marks to kick-off Week Three of the 2021 outdoor season at James G. Pressly Stadium. The Yellow Jackets lined up against host Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Southern California and Virginia Tech. Junior vaulter Olivia Moore captured gold in the women’s pole vault competition as the only athlete in the field to clear a height of 4.05m/13′ 3.5″, matching the mark she cleared last weekend at FSU Relays which is good for the 24th overall in the country at the time of publication.
