Celebrating a 95th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic can become a major family dilemma.
Last year when Anastasia Island resident Dorothy Miller turned 94 on April 18, her family and friends staged a drive-through celebration around her neighborhood. But turning 95 is the real milestone.
“Let’s go camping,” one family member suggested, and that triggered a lot of conversations among family members with Dorothy making the decision to “hit the road” and head to the campgrounds at Georgia Veteran’s Memorial State Park.
Family members joining the camping celebration included her children, sons Brad, Randy, Danny and daughter Jody. Son David and his wife Peyton from Houston, Texas, joined them.
