A man has been hospitalised after receiving serious burns in a caravan fire overnight. Emergency services were called to the blaze on East St in Netherby, Ashburton about 11pm on Tuesday. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Mau Barbara said the caravan was “well ablaze” when a crew from Ashburton arrived. They were able to stop the fire from spreading to any nearby structures and had the fire contained shortly after arriving.
