Many tourist attractions in the province of Rizal, from churches to restaurants, to resorts and art galleries are being groomed to boost domestic tourism in the Southern Tagalog Region.

During a recent visit of Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat in many parts of Rizal, including Angono and Antipolo, the secretary has emphasized the importance of the so-called Green Corridor Initiative in Rizal as one of the key strategies to hasten tourism recovery in the new normal.

If you are into countryside scenery with the sound of water flowing in a river, you don’t need to go far outside Metro Manila as the town of Angono in Rizal offers a quick escape from the city’s noise and pollution, especially this Heart’s Month.

At the DOMSA (Don Mariano Santos Ave.) Spring and Picnic Park, located in Sitio Labahan in Barangay San Isidro, one can enjoy an early morning or early afternoon picnic in bamboo cottages by the side of a river.

Several tricycles are now capable of transporting PWDs, especially the wheelchair-bound ones, and senior citizens as the province’s first ever PWD transport service.
Elmer Deloritos, chief of the Public Order and Safety Office of the municipal government, told the Manila Bulletin that the tricycles are no ordinary tricycles but are vehicles that are custom-built to transport a PWD passenger on a wheelchair as well as senior citizens.The converted tricycles were considered as colorum or those that have no franchise.
Aside from being a transport service, the tricycles can also be used to deliver the essentials of the PWDs or the elderly.
