Forest thinning projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin just got a new partner that will help remove the threat of wildfires in a cheaper and more efficient manner. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board unanimously approved a change to its policy that will now allow mechanical thinning on slopes with a 30-50 percent grade.
