Human remains dogs, or HR dogs, were flown to Hawaii from across the US to hunt down the completely unrecognizable bodies hidden beneath the rubble of what was once their homes, Stephen Bjune from FEMA Urban Search and Rescue told The Post.
David Birk lived his life with a level of enthusiasm, generosity of spirit, and love that earned him the respect and devotion of a multitude of family and friends. David opened his heart and home (and pool) to countless people through the years, always with a story to tell. As son Dan warmly remembers, “He had a big laugh, and an even bigger heart.” David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, canoeing, hiking, camping, scuba diving. He was also a loving dog owner, leaving behind his two German Shorthairs, Reba and Kali.

WARREN, MI – Roy Mason Tatge, 87, of Warren, died Thursday February 11, 2021, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Warren, Michigan.
Roy was born March 8, 1933, in Eldon, Missouri, the son of the late Marvin Tatge and the late Edna (nee: Harbison) Tatge.
Roy’s early years were spent in different parts of the United States until his family settled in Highland Park, Michigan where Roy graduated from Highland Park High School the graduating class of 1952. Following high school Roy enrolled at Highland Park Community College until he was called to duty to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. With thanks and praise we pay tribute to Roy for his service to his Country from 1953, until his honorable discharge in 1955.
