Sixty years after the onset of Beatlemania and with two of the quartet now dead, artificial intelligence has enabled the release of what is promised to be the last “new” Beatles song, “Now and Then".

The track features John Lennons vocals and George Harrisons guitar playing and was finished by Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr with the help of audio restoration technology, pioneered for film director Peter Jackson, allowing Lennons original demo to be cleaned up and used.

AI technology allowed the completion of John Lennon's shelved home demo more than 40 years later, but producer Giles Martin says the result is "organic, it's real, and it's definitely the Beatles."
