Fishing continues to be very good in the lower Niagara River, with the best action being on the Niagara Bar; meanwhile high waters make fishing challenging on the Salmon and Oswego Rivers.

Steelhead are holding in pools and browns are feeding now that the spawn is done.

Lake trout are moving into the Niagara river in larger numbers right now, the steelhead action continues to be strong, and both smallmouth and musky activity has picked up.

Anglers pushing through marginal conditions are getting into some decent steelhead, walleye and lakers.

Winter anglers must take advantage of good fishing conditions when they become available - you never know how long they will last

Although wind and weather continue to stir things up, tributary fishing off Lake Ontario is picking up and the upcoming arctic blast should help to lock up waterbodies for ice anglers.
