The worsening climate crisis has officially been named as the top global risk to everyone by the World Economic Forum in a report.

In the latest news in South Africa on Thursday 13 January 2022, the World Economic Forum (WEF) says SA faces the threat of state collapse.

"Cybersecurity failure" was identified as a critical short-and-medium-term threat to the world by respondents of the World Economic Forum's Global Risks

Other top risks are growing social divides, heightened cyber risks and an uneven global recovery, as the pandemic lingers on.

In its new ‘Global Risks Report 2022’, the World Economic Forum cites ‘climate action failure’ as the number-one risk over the coming decade.

While the distance of flights would vary, with an average flight length of three hours, Davos would see almost 34.6 million pounds burned during the event.

Many business leaders, politicians and academics are overwhelmingly pessimistic about the threat COVID-19 still poses even as the pandemic enters its third year. They worry that an uneven economic recovery could deepen divisions within societies and between countries.
