An overview of the Cholera outbreak response in Yemen, 2020
In 2020, Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP) reported cumulatively a total of 233,720 cases and 85 deaths (CFR 0.04%). Total 22,488 stool specimens were tested, 8,543 were positive by rapid test (RDTs) and 134 were positive by culture with 10% positivity rate. Fewer cases were reported in 2020 compared with previous years (See table and graph) following the implementation of control and prevention measures by MOPHP with the support of both health and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) clusters.

Highlights
• Emergence of new active cholera outbreaks in the states of Bauchi (54 cases including 4 deaths), Kano (146 cases including 10 deaths), Kebbi (180 cases including 11 deaths), Sokoto (165 cases including 8 deaths) and Ugon (52 cases including 2 deaths) in Nigeria during weeks 40 to 44.
• In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the second round of vaccination against cholera in South Kivu reached 1,058,352 people in the health zones of Fizi, Nundu, Uvira, Minova and Idjwi. The coverage rate was 100.6% of which 91.6% of the vaccinated people received their 2nd dose against 9% who we
