Since 2017, the Fleming Fund has been working to improve surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use and consumption in up to 24 countries in Africa and Asia. The fund has supported the implementation of national surveillance systems, delivering laboratory and surveillance system improvements in more than 250 public sector laboratories and more than 180 fellowships in the human, animal, food safety and environment sectors.
Glaucoma is more common in the elderly but can develop at any age. Congenital glaucoma happens at birth while infantile glaucoma occurs in the first three years of life. Another form of glaucoma called juvenile glaucoma can happen to children up to ten years of age.
