From new restaurants to retail, the fast-growing Southwest Valley has a lot planned in 2023.

Two restaurants have signed leases at Goodyear's new downtown and civic center area, which completed construction earlier this year.

Dublin, California-based Ross Stores Inc. (Nasdaq: ROST) recently purchased a massive site in Buckeye, a fast-growing suburb located southwest of Phoenix, for a regional distribution center.

In 1934, Bert Getz’s forebears in the family firm donated 330 animals to the fledgling Brookfield Zoo, which until then had only five animals, all baboons. The animals came from a Michigan zoo they owned. Getz did not respond to a request for comment.
