ASTI Business Services, Inc. (ABSI), the first subsidiary of Globe Telecom, Inc.âs Asticom Technology, Inc., a shared services company, is hoping to break into the multi-billion peso shared services market, as it aims to earn at least P500 million annually, the Ayala-led telecommunications firm said.
âWe are looking at an P11.25-billion market for the local IT-business service outsourcing (BSO) market in the Philippines alone. The market is currently dominated by international enterprises with in-house centers,â Globe said in an e-mailed statement.
The new business process solutions company is also hoping to penetrate bigger markets outside the Philippines, it added.
Globe Telecom Inc. is upgrading its network in 6 cities - 4 in Visayas and 2 in Mindanao, to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, the telco announced yesterday.
The upgrades will provide better connectivity to customers because of faster and more advanced technologies.

Ombudsman clears Acosta on anti-dengue vaccination funds case
THE Ombudsman has dismissed the charges against Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida V. Acosta and other officials on the alleged misuse of public funds related to the controversy on the government’s anti-dengue vaccination program.
The Ombudsman said there was no sufficient evidence against the PAO officials to pursue graft charges and grave misconduct in relation to the Dengvaxia controversy.
“(T)he criminal and administrative complaints against respondents are hereby dismissed, for insufficiency of evidence,” the Ombudsman said.
The resolution was dated October 23, 2019 but only released to the public on January 14.
