locations of these shootings this weekend, three people killed there, 11 wounded after multiple shooters in this case opened fire at a crowd. first, polo, begin with what we know about the shooting there in philadelphia. reporter: and, jim, unlike those cold-blooded massacres we saw play out or carried out in buffalo and texas, this started as a street brawl but it took a violent and deadly turn when some of the convince involved according to police used firearms opening fire sending people scrambling for safety. in the end three people were killed with about 11 people injured. investigators believe among the dead was one of the individuals involved in that scuffle, but, still, the police commissioner making it clear that there were also innocent bystanders among the victims and that is fueling her frustration and that of police officials in cities across the country this morning. this is the scene following another mass shooting in the united states, this time in philadelp
either/or? you re wearing a ron desantis t-shirt. that s like mr. mets saying go mets, or yankees, i m not really into baseball. this is just an unrelated medical condition [ laughter ] certainly, there are more signs in place polling voters intensity, walking around with a microphone. it was something, right, in so far as it raises a pretty good question, does anybody, voters, donors, conservative media, freudians really love ron desantis as the next president of the united states? certainly some people have the idea of him. but one poll after another poll after another poll reinforces trump is out of his mind making sure even his former press secretary knows. this is very much donald trump s republican party. he s got a lead hovering well above the 20s as we sit here today.
for shutting down their schools. they blamed democrats for shutting down their businesses. so that is of course donald trump was president at the time, but democrats certainly were more aggressive in many of these areas. they re these sleeper issues that sometimes don t even show up in polls, which is all to say don t get discouraged by what you re hearing or don t get too excited by what you re hearing, because, again, as tom said, you never know until the voters have their say. always wise to listen to tom brokaw. to your point about covid in schools, ask glenn youngkin about that. it s why he s the governor in the state of virginia in large part. to you as a mets fan, there s always next year, good luck. go mets. still ahead on morning joe, chairman of the democratic congressional campaign committee, sean patrick maloney
in 2008, you know, sometimes you have to just wait until voters vote to see what happens. it s once again, turnout, isn t it. always, joe. first things first, go mets. secondly, i think it s really important, though, that the democrats make sure that, you know, this is always about turnout, and so while the roe v. wade decision is incredibly important to democrats, you know, we know that most voters go to the polls based on their pocketbook issues. and so if we know that republicans are going to blame inflation, and all, you know, of the past trump policies on joe biden, democrats need to make sure they can walk and chew gum at the same time. we know that the fears of crime are latent sub texts that have a racialized history this this in this country. so walking voters through the perception of crime and where there is crime. also, the economy is much stronger under joe biden. we know that he s not giving tax breaks to his friends.
