Sardesai hints at united opposition plan in House | Goa News

Panaji: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said that a united opposition will corner the state government during the assembly session for selling out Goa. Suggesting that Congress and GFP have arrived at some strategy for floor management, Sardesai said that BJP’s role in Goa’s destruction will be exposed on the floor of the House. GFP also plans to introduce two private member’s bills during the session and asked BJP MLAs to support the bills which are in Goa’s interests. GFP plans to move a bill to provide 80% employment to locals in the private sector and a bill to strengthen the Goa Lokayukta Act.

Chowgule to commence coal mining in Madhya Pradesh | Goa News

Panaji: Chowgule & Company Private Limited (CCPL) is all set to start commercial coal mining in the Shahpur (East) coal mine in Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh after it signed an agreement with the Union ministry of coal, mines and parliamentary affairs. The Goan conglomerate won the bid for the coal mine in the e-auctions conducted in November last year. The company signed the agreement as a part of the Coal Unleashed event in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah and minister of coal, mines & parliamentary affairs Prahlad Joshi. “We are thrilled to be part of the country’s first ever commercial coal mining bid and to win the Sahahpur mine coal block,” said Padma Chowgule, chairman and managing director of the company. “The auction is a bold step by the government towards achieving the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Meanwhile, our company’s diversification into the coal sector is a part of our strategy to achieve robust, sustainable growth in the years ahead.
