The Android 12 Beta is here and Google has released it to beta developers that would first look and test the operating system and incorporate certain applications to be ready as it releases publicly. The over-the-air (OTA) update is currently happening and its availability for non-developers otherwise known as early users is unclear from the company.

A new leak may have given us the first glimpse of how Android 12 may look like.

In the first look, the Android 12 does seem cleaner than Android 11.
Android 12, Google s next OS iteration, is expected to be released in the coming months and some leaked images might have given us the first look at the UI. Looking at the leaked screenshots, we expect Google to finally move away from the transparent background for various visual elements on the operating system, which is likely to be replaced by a Beige coloured background.

Android 12, which is Google’s next-generation Android variant is expected to be unveiled soon. If one goes by the previous timeline, the Android 12 Developer Preview could be announced as early as February, which is when the Developer Preview of Android 11 was launched last year. Ahead of the official preview, several features of Android 12 have been leaked including app hibernation, ‘App Pairs’, restricted networking mode, and the ability to share Wi-Fi passwords with nearby devices. Google is working on a new app hibernation feature for Android, which is said to optimize storage on devices by managing app hibernation state. The feature could be available in Android 12, though there is no confirmation as of now. According to a report by XDA Developers, the hibernation feature appeared in the code changes submitted to AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The app hibernation system service is said to “manage app hibernation state, a state that apps can enter that means they are not being actively used and can be optimized for storage.” Mishaal Rahman of XDA Developers said in a tweet that the system will clear cache and free up storage if an app is hibernated for a single user of a multi-user device.
