Google: "Today we are announcing the opening of our global fintech operations centre in GIFT City, Gujarat. It will cement Indias fintech leadership, thanks to UPI, and Aadhaar. We are going to build on that foundation and take it globally," Pichai said.

Internet giant Google will set up its global fintech operation centre at GIFT City in Gujarat, its CEO Sundar Pichai said on Friday after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the company will establish its global fintech operation centre in GIFT City, Gujarat, during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi. Pichai also stated that Google will continue to invest in India through its $10 billion India Digitisation Fund.

Modi is visiting the US from June 21 to June 24 at the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Pichai also said that his company continues to invest in India though its USD 10 billion India Digitisation Fund.

According to the statement, AVPN is the world's largest social investor network in Asia-Pacific, and founded the APAC Sustainability Seed Fund with support from Google.org and Asian Development Bank to enable local organisations developing solutions

Also, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation pledged $5 million for research and programs to reduce incidents of gun violence, and Google.org gave $1.1 million to create a marketplace where impact investors, companies, and philanthropists can purchase social-impact credits from nonprofit groups.
