County Wexford has been awarded €3,750,000 from the Government’s Active Travel Investment and of that only 1.3pc or €50,000 will be going towards projects in north Wexford.
A Christmas decoration made using a soap bottle, a foil tray, an old ping pong ball and some milk cartons has won Best Christmas Decoration at an annual Wexford County Council (WCC) competition. Created by Niamh O’Connor from St Fintan’s National School in Taghmon, the winning decoration, entitled The White Angel, was chosen out of 171 entries at an awards ceremony presided over by cathaoirleach of WCC Councillor John Fleming. The runner-up, Christmas is Magic, was created by Shona Larkin, first class, Mercy School, John’s Road, Wexford.
Wexford County Council, in conjunction with South East Radio, has announced the winners of the 2023 Christmas Decoration Competition. The school year ended on a festive note with Cllr. John Fleming, An Cathaoirleach presenting the awards at a special ceremony in County Hall on Thursday 21st of December.
A pair of Gorey sisters have donated almost two-and-half feet of hair to the Little Princess Trust to help children who have lost their own hair through illness. Katie (7) and Lucy (4) O’Neill had been growing their hair for many years, with only the odd trim here and there, and had long, flowing blonde locks prior to Saturday afternoon.
