The bid to build the new homes in Gosfield were granted on Tuesday, June 8. The sit is on land south of The Limes and is just off the Street in the village. The development, which was being proposed by Chelsteen Homes, comes after previous proposals for the site were approved. Permission for up to 19 homes was granted in 2018 while consent for 17 homes was granted in June 2020. But now the latest bid has been granted by Braintree Council s Planning Committee subject to certain conditions being met. It comes as Braintree Council recommended the bid for approval prior to the meeting. However the new will come as a blow to some who felt the plans would impact the village s environment and wildlife as well as lead to overdevelopment.
