Governor Kidnapping Plot Charges Explainer News Today

A jury acquitted two defendants in the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping trial on Friday but was unable to come to a verdict on the alleged ringleaders of the plot.

Prosecutors say Adam Fox wanted to blow up a bridge near Whitmer's second home to thwart any police response to a kidnapping.

The disclosure came near the end of the first phase of testimony by a key government witness in the trial of four men.

"We want her flex-cuffed on a table while we all pose and get our pictures taken," one defendant said of Whitmer.
