A jury has convicted two men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 after a jury failed to reach a verdict in an earlier trial of the two men.

A man acquitted in April regarding a plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) spoke out Friday after both sides rested their case in the retrial of two men charged in the conspiracy.

"We wanted to cause as much a disruption as possible to prevent Joe Biden from getting into office," Ty Garbin told jurors.
