Every time i talk to a teacher in wisconsin when i was on the road a couple weeks ago covering this story i thought about my mother. she was a high school english teacher. ironically she went to montclair state in new jersey, teachers college at the time. she taught english at granby high school in norfolk, virginia. she had three accelerated classes and three regular classes. my mother, she graded papers until the wee hours of the morning. she got her kids off to school every day. and when she ...
