COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s rowing team advanced two boats to the grand finals and one to the petite finals following racing Saturday at the 2021 NCAA Championships. The event is being held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
The Ohio State 2V8 and 1V4 will compete for a chance at a national title Sunday while the 1V8 will race for a chance to finish in 7-12th place.
Entering the championships, Ohio State’s First Varsity Four and Second Varsity Eight boats were seeded No. 6. The First Varsity Eight was seeded No. 7.
SATURDAY RACES
The Buckeye 1V8 semifinal race was scheduled for 8:36 a.m. Saturday but an equipment issue with one of the teams changed the order of the races. The Buckeyes were moved to the second semifinal race vs. Alabama, Rutgers, Michigan, Texas and Syracuse. The Top 3 finishers advanced to the grand finals Sunday (positions 1-6). The remaining teams advanced to the petite finals (7-12).
