Build a winner at Coors Field? Heres how the Colorado Rockies next GM can do it -- if the owner lets them play Story caps off grand slam with epic bat flip (0:35) Trevor Story gets a hold of a 433-foot grand slam and shows off with a savage bat flip. (0:35) Dick Monfort, whose family made its fortune in the cattle business, knows more about B.S. than anyone in baseball. For more than two decades, Monfort has been peddling a particular kind to the fans of the Colorado Rockies, the team he owns a...

The phrasing of the Colorado Rockies April 26 announcement about the exit of general manager/executive vice president Jeff Bridich — the statement notes that the team and the GM "mutually agreed that Bridich will step down from his role, effective immediately" — could not have been less satisfying. Long-suffering fans deserved something more along the lines of "Bridich was frog-marched out of his office in shame" or "Bridich raced from the building screaming, as if hed just noticed that he ...

68 days since pitchers and catchers reported to spring training. 26 days since Opening Day. One day since Jeff Bridich resigned as general manager of the Rockies. Bridich’s resignation, less than a month into the 2021 season, is a signifying moment that enough was enough. Something boiled over so far that Bridich stepped away just 21 games into the 2021 season. His resignation ends 17 consecutive years of franchise loyalty in an immediate act of severed ties when he could have surely stepped ...

April 27, 2021 On Monday, the Rockies announced that executive vice-president/general manager Jeff Bridich would be leaving his role with the team. Whether or not this amounts to a resignation or a “resignation” allowing a long-time employee to save face, the result is the same: there will be a new face responsible for personnel decisions in Colorado. (For now, that’s team COO Greg Feasel, who will serve as the interim GM, but the team expects to hire a full-time replacement after the end...

After 17 years with in the Rockies organization, including the last seven as general manager, Jeff Bridich has resigned his post with the Rockies. The announcement came as a bit of a surprise after Bridich traded away star third baseman Nolan Arenado earlier this offseason. No immediate successor was named but the club did announce that Greg Feasel has been promoted from Vice President and COO over the business side of the club to Team President, now in charge of baseball operations. According ...

In the same press release announcing that General Manager Jeff Bridich was resigning from the organization, the Colorado Rockies have announced they have named Greg Feasel as the Club President in wake of the front office shakeup. Feasel has been with the Rockies organization since 1996 and currently serves as the team’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, a role he was appointed to in 2012. Upon quick glance, Feasel, a former NFL offensive lineman, does not appear to have m...
