After 27 long years, authorities have finally detained a man they believe was involved in the 1996 murder of superstar rapper Tupac Shakur.

Davis has long been known to investigators and has himself admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, "Compton Street Legend," that he was in the Cadillac from which the gunfire erupted during the September 1996 drive-by shooting. Shakur was 25 when he was killed.

US authorities say Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis ‘ordered’ the drive-by shooting that killed the celebrated US rapper.

A person with first-hand knowledge of the arrest who wasnt authorized to publicly speak about the case told The Associated Press that Duane Davis was taken into custody Friday morning.

The man, a former gang leader named Duane Keith Davis, has said the four shots that killed the rapper in 1996 came from the vehicle he was riding in.
