An industry organization representing powerful drug middlemen said that banning an industry practice would lead to "higher costs and fewer choices for America’s employers." But to support it, the organization points to analysis that didn't look at private insurance and didn't reach the conclusion that it claimed.

The panel is expected to rule in the coming months, but the U.S. Supreme Court will have the final say.

A new executive order is slated to help Floridians pay less for prescription drugs, adding more rules for the pharmacy and manufacturer middlemen known as pharmacy benefit managers. 

Millions of U.S. seniors were supposed to get price relief soon on their prescription drugs under a revamp of Medicare fees by a federal agency. The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services delayed proposed changes until 2024 at least. The trade group for PBMs– the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association– applauded the deal.
