Prof Gregory Ibeh: Nigerian Don Endows $1 Million For COVID-19 Research – Igbere TV

❚ You already voted!   Nigerian academic, entrepreneur and inventor Prof. Gregory Ibeh has endowed $1 million for the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic, IgbereTV reports. Ibeh will also help facilitate the research via his Abia-based Gregory University Uturu, which announced the move in a statement on January 19.   According to Rosemary Igboekwe, Registrar of Gregory University Uturu,the endowment fund, which will be available to Scientists and Researchers within the bounds of southern Nigeria as grants, will be channelled through Gregory Iyke Foundation, the philanthropic organ of Prof Gregory Ibe. The move will put Nigeria, which has been heavily reliant on foreign scientific aid, high on the ladder of COVID-19 research globally.

Leaders and stakeholders of Igbo extraction have reacted to the emergence of Professor George Obiozor as the new President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Recall that two different elections, held consecutively on Saturday and Sunday produced Chidi Ibeh and George Obiozor as the President Generals of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Reacting, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu representing Abia South Senatorial district and former Abia State Governor, congratulated Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Professor George Obiozor, on his election as President General of the highest Igbo body. Kalu, who is the Senate Majority Chief Whip, stressed that the ex-envoy’s pedigree and goodwill earned him robust support from Ndigbo worldwide.

Real estate developer canvasses think-home philosophy among Igbo investors

The call is contained in Oguejiofor’s keynote address to the World Igbo Congress at Gregory University, Uturu (GUU), Abia State, made available to newsmen in Enugu. He appealed to investors of Igbo origin to invest at home in order to facilitate socio-economic development and employment creation in Igboland. “Investing at home will help to create employment opportunities for our teeming youths. He paid glowing tribute to the conveners of the summit and the Chancellor of GUU, Prof. Gregory Ibe, for his legacies, especially with the siting of the university in the southeast.
