The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced Thursday that it is done with on-site inspections of mandatory winterization efforts, adding that the independently-owned electric generation fleet and electric transmission companies serving the region are ready for winter weather.

The operators of the Texas power grid are trying to lessen fears of another blackout, just days before a cold snap is set to hit the state.

"We had a significant amount of outages at the beginning of June that led to a week long conservation period. It is a situation we cannot be in all summer long."
