The Grand Rapids Police Department tells FOX 17 officers are actively working the scene of a shooting that left one man with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The initial call came in around 4:45 a.m. for shots heard on Marshall Ave near Eastern Ave. Police are still investigating.

An early morning car fire was the result of a police chase Thursday. GRPD tells us they were trying to recover a stolen vehicle when the driver took off.

Former GRPD Officer Christopher Schurr will be in court next week, according to documents obtained by FOX 17.
