president changed any minds tonight? i don t know that he changed minds. look, i think the lines are pretty firmly drawn here. i think certainly to those who agree with him he spoke passionately and sensibly. to those who disagree, they are concerned about the words he used and the conspiracy theories the idea that comparing gun ownership to the responsibility of driving a car, the sheriff pointed out, you know, gun ownership is enshrined in the constitution or the right to bear arms is in the constitution and car ownership is not. the lines are firmly drawn. but i think the president, kudos to him and all of those who came tonight on all sides of this issue to put their positions forward to the president. those who disagreed with the president, you know, it s easy to sit at home and yell at the screen. it s another thing to stand up in front of the president of the
