Who is Guy Fawkes? The man behind the attempted Gunpowder Plot of 1605, also known as Guido Fawkes, is the reason we celebrate Bonfire Night on the 5th of November every year. He was born in York and was a member of a group of 13 provincial English Catholics who planned to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Every year on November 5, skies across England, Scotland and Wales are illuminated by fireworks as Brits head out into the night to enjoy Guy Fawkes Night celebrations.
