“Clearly without consent, at times you would overcome resistance forcefully,” Rowe told Bullock. “You have neither remorse, nor insight. You blame the victims and the families.” In victim impact statements read to the court, the women described feeling belittled by Bullock. The pair had attended counselling sessions in an attempt to move past the abuse, but one said they felt they may never recover. “It makes me feel worthless,” her statement read. “I’ve lost my trust in people. I have ongoing fears of men and find it difficult to be at home alone at night. “I hope Shane realises the consequence of what he has done, that the effects of his actions have long-lasting consequences that I fear will affect me for the rest of my life.”
Judge Lance Rowe thanked the jurors for their dedication after “a very difficult trial to hear”. One of the charges involved Bullock slicing off a woman s track pants with a box cutter and holding it as he raped her. Crown prosecutor Guy Carter detailed the fear the women felt, and the confusion they had aboutwhat happened to them. He said consent is not a given and everyone had the right to choose every time they engaged in sexual acts. “You heard under interview that both women repeated the exact same story in regards to the sexual allegations. “They would struggle, they would fight, he would prise their legs apart and leave bruises.
Little Marlow Country Park There have been strong objections to an “inappropriate” planning application for a battery energy storage facility to be installed in Little Marlow Country Park on Green Belt land off Coldmoorholme Lane. The application seeks temporary planning permission to undertake the development work required for the construction and operation of a battery energy storage facility. Plans say the core objective and purpose of the development would feed standby energy into the main network and support supplies into Heathrow Airport. However, the Little Marlow council has objected to plans saying the development is “inappropriate” and is “not justified” by any of the exceptions listed in policy DM42 of the Wycombe District Local Plan.
