She was born January 10, 1957, in Marquette, a daughter of the late Otis and Joanne (Holm) Kleaver. She attended Gwinn Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Gwinn High School and was a lifelong area resident. Sharon married the love of her life, Leonard Bodenus, in Gwinn, in 1975. Throughout her life she had many passions. Early in life she was very active in numerous music groups playing everything from country to rock and roll. One of her greatest achievements was the formation of the gospel music group Freedom to Fly and the starting of the Gospel Music Fest in Marquette.
