The Supreme Court will hear on April 21 a plea filed by the Hindu parties to consolidate all suits concerning Gyanvapi - Kashi Vishwanath dispute which are pending before a Varanasi court.
A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala said it will list the matter for hearing on April 21 when the other matter will come up for hearing.
Gyanvapi Mosque case: A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud on Thursday took note of the submissions of advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, appearing for some Hindu devotees, and said the order granting protection was expiring on November 12. “We will constitute a bench at 3 PM tomorrow,” the CJI said.
Gyanvapi mosque case: Jain said the interim order expires on November 12 and it needs to be extended. He also pointed out that the Order 7 Rule 11 (rejection of plaints) application filed by the Muslim parties was rejected.
