In its order, the court observed that if the media print, electronic or social still publishes “false” reports about the survey, action will be taken against them as per the law.
The court of District Judge A K Vishvesh passed the order on a plea by the Gyanvapi management committee seeking a ban on the media coverage of the survey which is being conducted to determine whether the 17th-century mosque was constructed over a temple
The PIL was filed on August 2, seeking directions to the state government and district administration to seal the entire Gyanvapi mosque without affecting the survey by the Archeological Society of India.
