[ laughter ] why not a new relationship with the press? hillary clinton is expected to announce her presidential candidacy very soon. a group claiming affiliation with isis is threatening u.s. soldiers on american soil. the islamic state hacking division posted a hit list on line calling for attacks against about 100 troops along with their pictures and addresses. pamela brown reports. reporter: among the personal information posted on the hit list pictures, home addresses, and phone numbers of commanders captains and major generals. in total about 100 members of the u.s. military. many of those singled out are piles including this man, seen holding his baby. we re blurring his face to protect his identity. the list was posted by a group calling itself the islam instate hacking division. tonight, that group is calling on isis sympathizers to kill the service members in their own
writing she is in menopause and will no longer be able to have children. those are the top stories on this tuesday, march 24th. from abc news, this is world news now. we begin this half hour with the u.s. response to the ominous hit list linked to isis. the fbi on the case taking the threat seriously. the agency is coordinating with local law enforcement to keep the troops on the list safe. more now from abc s martha raddatz. reporter: it s the most specific threat against u.s. service members we have seen. the names, photographs, which we have blurred and addresses of 100 of our service members. a group calling itself the islamic state hacking division calling on all muslims to find those on the list and kill them. but this list did not require hacking. this is the kind of social media messaging of a vile sort that isil specializes in.

again, i don t think we have to be too concerned right now about an organized isis force in this country carrying out attacks. my concern is i believe what the justice department believes is that we re talking about lone wolves. for instance what we saw in queens back in october, where we had the isis supporter, the isis sympathizer who was radicalized over the internet using the hatchet attack on the two police officers or in canada. i think what isis is doing is appealing to supports, people on the fringes of society who will act out. we have to look for actual isis cells. i think the immediate threat would come from someone who is a deranged perp edd person or lone wolf influenced by isis. what this isis so-called hacking division what they said is to their supporters sympathizers here in the united states if you can t come fight with us here in iraq or syria or yemen or libya or whatever stay
