(WALB) - The pandemic has churches around South Georgia thinking of innovative ways to gather on Ash Wednesday and mark the ashes without touching. “Normally, I just use my finger to apply the ashes over the forehead and say the traditional words to each person receiving the ashes and this year, I’ll use a little finger of the glove to protect those and not cross-contaminate as we apply the ashes,” said Mike Davis, the pastor at Hahira United Methodist Church.
