Unfortunately, base renaming is now back in vogue. I would like to offer a personal perspective on why this decision is not only demoralizing but why it involves contradictions and a political agenda to undermine the nation.

Because of Julia Moore, the news of a servicemember's death is now delivered in person. And she is now the first Army spouse to have a base named after her.

The Army's Fort Benning in Georgia is now Fort Moore—another in the list of military institutions taking down Confederate names and replacing them with more modern ones....
