Bangalore Mirror had published a story – The lake minded – on January 13, 2024, narrating how the open entrance of Halasuru Lake has become a place for dumping garbage, construction and demolition debris. ​

Out of the 26 sewershed sites, 25 were found to be positive. High viral loads were found in the STPs of Hulimavu, Doddabellee, Nagasandra PH1, Yelhanka, Halasuru, and Cubbon Park. However, Dr Rakesh K Mishra, Director of TIGS, pointed out that the high positivity rate of locations is not what has to be looked at, but instead the overall results of 25 sites that have shown positivity.

Suvidha Cabins are supposed to be equipped with basic amenities such as toilets, changing rooms, feeding rooms and medical aid. The Solid Waste Management (SWM) Department had announced the construction of 221 Suvidha Cabins at an estimated cost of Rs 18.31 crore in January 2022. It is estimated that each of the Suvidha Cabins costs Rs 5.50 lakh. The plan was to complete the construction of Suvidha Cabins in six months but the target was not achieved despite a delay of one year.
