The formerly town-owned property went up for sale during the construction of that east section of Griffin Road in 2017. A background report from administration noted they were “particularly pleased” when new owners, local property managers Norberg Developments, indicated a “vision for the future of the property that aligned with the town’s objective to diversify the non-residential tax base and help support local business” as well as a desire to restore the barn, originally built in 1907.

Last year, things got pretty chaotic around the pathway junction at the base of the Jack Tennant Bridge.
In addition to the beach, river access and criss-crossing paths with Cochranites moving in all types of ways, the area also serves as an off-leash dog park. With residents sticking around town more than ever last year, they got pretty popular.
