JAMAICA: 5 of 6 homeless men now confirmed dead in chopping attacks

Four homeless men in Jamaica have now been confirmed dead in brutal chopping attacks against members of the vulnerable population across the Corporate Area overnight. Jamaicans woke up today (Monday, January 25, 2021) to the shocking news that six homeless men were victims of similar chopping attacks across different sections of Kingston and St Andrew - all of them suffering chop wounds to the head. Three of the victims were found chopped to death on Sutton and Hanover streets in downtown Kingston. It was reported initially that they were chopped to death in their sleep on Sutton Street in downtown Kingston early this morning. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Kingston Central Police Station and the divisional headquarters.

Stephanie Lindsay Police have launched a major investigation across several divisions into the attack on six homeless men, which left four of them dead and two others nursing chop wounds at hospital, between late Sunday night and early Monday morning. The incidents reportedly happened in downtown, Kingston, Spanish Town Road in the vicinity of the Remand Centre and Half Way Tree in St Andrew. In an interview with Loop News, head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force s Corporate Communications Unit, Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay, said the police are now pursuing several leads as the investigations intensify.
