Hurricane dorian? >> well, the one advantage of this slower-moving hurricane is that we have had a few extra days to prepare. right now currently we are experiencing the tropical storm force winds and the biggest impact were going to get is going to come around 3:00 a.m., and its going to last maybe until 9:00 a.m. for the biggest impacts, but were expected to see about 17 to 24 hours of sustained winds. so weve been preparing for quite some time. this morning we did issue a mandatory evacuation...

Look at the waves pummeling the pier. folks in daytona are feeling a little bit of a sigh of relief. theyve still got a high tide coming in at 1:00 p.m. in the fear of storm surge and flood is very real but as you can see, it is very high, its a king tide and will be mixed with the inland intercoastal way, the halifax river in daytona flooded three years ago during hurricane matthew and two years ago in irma. they dodged a major bullet. i got off the phone with the sheriff. things have gone well...
