Gambia beat Tunisia on penalties to clinch Total U20 AFCON bronze
Goalkeeper Lamin Saidy saved two penalties as Gambia beat Tunisia 4-2 on post-match penalties at the Stade Cheikha Ould Boidiya in Nouakchott on Friday to clinch bronze at the Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The game was forced to penalties after a barren stalemate in normal time and Saidy proved to be the hero for the Gambians who equalled their best ever performance at the tournament in 2007, when they also won bronze.

Saidy saved from Adam Karim Benlamine and substitute Hamdi Abidi to help his side clinch the trophy. Gambiaâs only miss in the shoot out was from Habessi Achref who saw his penalty saved by substitute keeper Ahmed Laabidi.

The result saw CAR finish second in Group B with four points, same like Tunisia who came third on head to head basis.
Tunisia however squeezed through into the last eight as they are assured of finishing as one of the best two third placed teams.

Tunisia beat Namibia 2-0 at the Cheikh Ould Boidiya Stadium in Nouakchott on Thursday to boost their hopes of progressing to the knockout phases of the Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Goals in either half from Marc Martin Lamti and Hassan Ayari earned Tunisia their first win of the tournament as they moved to four points after two matches. Namibia remain with just the single point picked up after match day one from their draw against Central Africa Republic.
The Southern Africans paid the ultimate price for their missed chances and found themselves trailing by a goal at the break.
