VIN 001 Ford Bronco, Mustang Mach 1 Going Up for Auction

In what’s become a bit of a tradition, Ford is putting a pair of highly collectible vehicles up for auction to benefit a couple of great causes. The VIN 001 2021 Ford Bronco two-door and VIN 001 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 are both heading to the block at Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming Scottsdale auction.

With the Bronco, Ford will donate all proceeds from the auction to Outward Bound USA and the National Forest Foundation. Both are beneficiaries of the new Bronco Wild Fund, which launched late last year with the goal of serving up $5 million in funds to environmental causes.

Earlier this month we reported the 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will be receiving a third equipment package called the Carbon Fiber Handling Package. Ford immediately confirmed this but one major detail remained unknown: pricing. Today, it appears we have our answer. CarBuzz reached out to Ford who confirmed that the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will cost $10,000 once it goes on sale in the very near future.
As previously noted, the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will act as a middle ground between the $1,500 Handling Package and the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack. We re only surprised it s taken Ford a whole model year to launch the new package given the $17,000 price difference between the existing two.

The BMW M550i xDrive is 90% of the car the M5 is, and in some ways, it s actually better. The M550i offers strong V8 power and a long list of tech and creature comforts. What it lacks in outright track-attack ferocity it more than makes up for with greater overall balance and a much nicer ride quality. Given the choice, I d pick the M550i as my daily driver.
