MANKATO, MINN. (USF) – The University of Sioux Falls Softball Team (21-22, 15-14 NSIC) battled the second place team in the NSIC but dropped a doubleheader to Minnesota State (34-7, 23-5 NSIC), 6-3, 1-0 on Sunday to conclude the regular season.
USF finished the season at 15-14 in league play and was 21-22 overall. USF lost 6-3, and 1-0 to Minnesota State. The games today were the final regular season for six seniors – Frankie Mickelson, Cassie Van Beek, Emily Cheloha, Rachel Klassen, Mika Rodriguez and Emmie Uitts.
USF, which finished ninth in the league, will be the ninth seed in the league tournament and face No. 8 seed Minot State on Thursday (May 13) in Rochester, Minn.

SIOUX FALLS , S.D. (KELO.com) When presented with opportunity, the University of Sioux Falls Softball Team (15-16, 9-8 NSIC) delivered as freshman pitcher Hanna Cress threw a gem in the circle and freshman catcher Damaris Cuevas hit a two-run home run to provide the difference on offense as the Cougars recorded a 2-1 city rivalry win over No. 1 Augustana (28-4, 16-2 NSIC) in game two of an NSIC doubleheader at Sherman Park on Thursday.
