But that hasn’t stopped its estimated 3.6 million people from celebrating its 30 years of independence. In Somaliland’s capital, Hargeisa, the crowded streets witnessed patriotic music blaring from honking cars. Videos on social media showed young people draped in green, red, and white the colors of the national flag.
