Buxar Train Accident: East Central Railways' general manager said that a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured people will be given.

Local residents rushed to the scene and helped passengers exit the derailed coaches. Ambulances later arrived and hospitals were alerted to receive injured passengers, police officer Deepak Kumar said.

Four passengers were killed and 70 others injured when six coaches of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed in Bihars Buxar district. The accident occurred at 9:53 pm, with two AC III Tier coaches toppling over and four other coaches jumping the tracks. The injured have been shifted to local hospitals, with serious cases being rushed to AIIMS in Patna. Rescue operations have been completed, and the cause of the derailment is under investigation.

Six coaches of Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derail near Raghunathpur station in Bihars Buxar district.

The 23-coach 12506 North East Express had departed the Anand Vihar terminal in Delhi at 7:40 am on Wednesday for its nearly 33-hour journey to Kamakhya, about six kilometres away from Guwahati.

Six coaches of the North East Express, which was travelling from Delhi to Kamakhya, went off the tracks near Raghunathpur station in Buxar district of Bihar.
