One male victim died and another was injured in a shooting Wednesday night in the 800 block of North Calhoun Street in Harlem Park in West Baltimore, police said. Later, there was another shooting.
It remains unclear what caused the water contamination in West Baltimore. But its effect is undeniable: It is one more thing pulling on a frayed social and economic fabric, further stressing the need for sustainable solutions.
Mayor Brandon Scott said that after reviewing water samples the city had obtained clearance from the Maryland Department of the Environment to lift the precautionary advisory for Baltimore County and a part of the city.
The boil water advisory remains in effect Thursday for some Baltimore City residents and businesses while the city continues to hand out water to those in need.
