NHS staff will start delivering life-saving Covid vaccinations at the Blackpool Winter Gardens, a former DIY store and the museum where BBC hit Peaky Blinders was filmed from today, January 25.
The new NHS Vaccination Centres are among more than 30 opening across the country as the vaccination drive continues to accelerate.
There is now a network of 50 large scale centres, capable of jabbing thousands of people a week, across the country.
They include the Crick Institute in London and the Sunderland Nightingale hospital as well as the Black Country Living Museum, used as the backdrop to Peaky Blinders.
Harlow’s coronavirus infection rate, 907, is currently the highest in all of Essex. As of January 26 a new vaccinations centre will open in Harlow Leisurezone in Second Avenue. The centre will become the second location in the town to support the vaccination programme with Lister House giving jabs since the end of December. Brian Keane, chief executive of Harlow Council, said: “The centre will be the second site in the town with Lister House already supporting the programme. I would like to thank all those, including the many volunteers and health staff, who are and will continue to play such an important role in making sure that Harlow residents are vaccinated against this virus.
