"If the cleanliness and safety of Santa Cruz are genuinely our priorities, and if we are truly committed to addressing the environmental health challenges posed by needle litter, we must follow the guidance from the Santa Cruz County Public Health Division and the California Department of Public Health," writes Amber Parker in a Guest Commentary. "We should expand exchange hours and locations, increase the number of 24/7 disposal kiosks throughout the city, and fund secondary and mobile exchanges, which can expand litter cleanup efforts."
